Walk with Wombats
Lodge guests get the opportunity for special access and to personally interact with teenage wombats, bottle feed joey (baby) wallabies and act ‘mom’ to all the other babies in our sponsored animal shelter. Ditch the Dior but bring the camera, this is ‘hands on’ engagement with some of Tasmania’s amazing wildlife including sugar gliders and possums.

Blow the cobwebs away and get to see the World Heritage Wilderness upside down in the company of ex Military fighter pilots. The Australian Travel & Tourism Awards “Best Lodge in Australia” was not won this year by us – we were booted into the ‘Hall of Fame’. Guess it would have been boring to be allowed to compete again – thank you wonderful guests

Wild bush fires and brave firefighters
At the end of another dry summer, the bush is tinder dry so when lightening struck we saw a flurry of helicopters and over 100 firemen tackle fires on the edge of the Estate that threatened Hobart's power supply. We lost some forest that has probably not seen a fire for a couple of 100 years. They do an amazing job those fire crews and all are safe.
